Seeking Producers for "That Jones Boy! Or, the Adventures of a Bastard," a Musical Comedy of Manners adapted from Henry Fielding's classic novel, "Tom Jones." - Robert Carver

THAT JONES BOY! OR THE ADVENTURES OF A BASTARD combines a picaresque coming-of-age story with social commentary and high/low comedy along with lots of song and dance. We follow our hero from his birth and childhood (in the prologue) to young adulthood, thru various romantic entanglements to his near tragic death by hanging for a crime he did not commit.

Our concept is to invite our audience to experience a replica of an 18th century theatrical experience. A limited number of ticket holders will be invited to attend in period costume, giving them a slightly reduced purchase price to nffset the rental of the costume.

Large cast of 39 actor-singer-dancers, all of whom will perform multiple roles under the Actors' Equity Favored Nations Agreement As Cast clause.

Orchestra: minimum 24 players with conductor at the keyboard. Authentic late 18th century instrumentation including harpsichords/forte' piano.

The costumes intended for the production have been described as "a designer's wet dream." Multiple, rapidly changing scenic challenges can be met with a unit set and lighting/rear-projections.
