Stage Manager & Production Assistant (Full time)



Emerald Coast Theatre Company seeks a dedicated Stage Manager & Production Assistant to serve as the organizational backbone of our diverse theatrical programming. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to lead stage management operations while gaining experience across all areas of professional theatre. You'll work on a variety of productions—from intimate dramas to family-friendly spectacles—while building skills in every aspect of theatrical production and contributing directly to your community's cultural landscape.

Primary Responsibilities

Stage Management:

Serve as Stage Manager for all ECTC productions

Assist with or lead stage management for Educational Theatre programs and children's productions

Coordinate communication between directors, actors, designers, and technical staff throughout the production process

Maintain prompt books, calling cues, and managing rehearsal schedules

Efficiently run rehearsals: including moving/coordinating set pieces, props, and ensuring timing and schedules are prioritized



Production Support:

(Role will be tailored to the candidate’s experience, but flexibility and a readiness to learn and take on various responsibilities are essential)

Support production elements including sets, props, costumes, and technical aspects



Coordinate with independent contractors, guest directors, and visiting artists

Assist with inventory and procurement of production materials, lumber, and supplies



Assist with construction of props, costumes, and scenic elements

Support load-in, strike, and changeover activities for all productions

Provide sound engineering and technical support as needed



Additional Theatre Operations Support

As needed, provide assistance with:

Front of house operations during performances and events

Theatre maintenance and facility upkeep

General cleaning and organization of performance and rehearsal spaces

Event management for fundraisers and special programming

Off-site ECTC events, productions, and fundraising activities

Administrative tasks and special projects as assigned



Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Theatre with stage management experience, or equivalent relevant professional experience

Relevant professional theatre experience

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on ladders

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to work effectively with children, teens, and adults

Flexibility and willingness to take on varied responsibilities

Sense of humor and patience when working with diverse groups

Experience with multiple aspects of theatre production



Compensation

Annual salary: $40,000 - $48,000 (based on experience)

Additional benefits package includes company paid health insurance
