Broadway Sacramento seeks a Production Manager to play a leading role in the planning, execution, and maintenance of all production elements of the company’s self-produced shows and events. Broadway Sacramento has been a cultural and artistic institution serving Northern California audiences for nearly 75 years. In that time, it has expanded from its summer stock origins to offer two year-round seasons of musicals: A self-produced series in its 2,200 seat “in the round” venue (Broadway At Music Circus at the UC Davis Health Pavilion) and a presented series of touring Broadway in its proscenium venue (Broadway On Tour at the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center). Essential duties and responsibilities include: • Schedule, budget and plan the annual Broadway At Music Circus season. • Recruit and supervise full and part time artistic and production staff of approximately 100 employees, including negotiating employment terms; facilitating workplace orientations; arranging travel and housing when necessary; and approving and distributing the weekly production payroll. • Supervise the production workspaces to ensure safety, efficiency and compliance. • Schedule and supervise union labor calls (IATSE Stagehands). • Manage, review and approve all production expenditures. • Identify and coordinate production rentals and equipment purchases. • Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and train production volunteers. • Value and foster a work environment that is equitable, diverse and inclusive.
