Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis
Sunday, March 4, 2012
Event Time: 8 PM
Ticket Prices: $50, $45

Wynton Marsalis is an internationally acclaimed musician, composer, bandleader, educator and a leading advocate of American culture. He is the world's first jazz artist to perform and compose across the full jazz spectrum from its New Orleans roots to bebop to modern jazz. By creating and performing an expansive range of brilliant new music for quartets to big bands, chamber music ensembles to symphony orchestras, tap dance to ballet, Wynton has expanded the vocabulary for jazz and created a vital body of work that places him among the world's finest musicians and composers.

Anoushka Shankar
Thursday, March 22, 2012

Event Time: 8 PM
Ticket Prices: $40, $35

Sitar player and composer Anoushka Shankar has emerged as one of the leading figures in World Music today. She is deeply rooted in Indian classical music, having studied exclusively with her father, the legendary Ravi Shankar, and is now one of the foremost performers in that tradition. In tandem with this, she has flourished as a performer and composer, exploring fertile ground in the crossover between Indian music and a variety of genres including electronica, jazz, flamenco and Western classical music.

Jake Shimabukuro
Friday, March 30, 2012
Event Time: 8 PM
Ticket Prices: $25

It's rare for a young musician to earn comparisons to the likes of Jimi Hendrix and MiLes Davis. It's even harder to find an artist who has entirely redefined an instrument by his early thirties. But Jake Shimabukuro has already accomplished these feats, and more...on the ukulele. On his most recent album 'Peace Love Ukulele', Jake and his "uke" effortlessly mix jazz, rock, classical, traditional Hawaiian music, and folk, creating a sound that's both technically and emotionally powerful and utterly unique in the music world.
