The Alhambra Theatre & Dining (www.alhambrajax) will open its 2014 season - its 47th - with a rockin' musical and close it out in December with a return of show that sold 100% of it's tickets in 2012. Season Packages will go on sale to the general public on October 4, said Managing Partner Craig Smith.

Smith commented that the 2013 season was the fourth straight season that enjoyed a double-digit increase in Season Partnership sales from the season before. Renewals have consistently outdone the prior year as well. "It speaks volumes of the team behind me," said Smith. "From the culinary team to the theatrical staff to the hostesses, if we weren't putting out an exceptional product then we wouldn't be having the success we're having with renewals."

Season Partnerships have been available to existing subscribers since the middle of September. It has been the Theatre's custom to have an advance renewal window for those who have previously been Season Partners. "Opening the reservation period to Season Partners and our most ardent supporters has become a bit of a tradition, and something consistent with what theaters like ours do all over the country," said Smith. He continued, "these are our partners, people who support us through thick and thin. Their legions are growing and we want to reward them by giving them first crack at the best seats in the house. They are passionate, loyal and involved, and they deserve to be given an advance opportunity. The good news is, there isn't a bad seat in the house so those coming in after October 1 will have have plenty of great shows and great seats to choose from."

The 2014 season will include six musicals or musical comedies and three straight comedies. Richard Karn of TV's Home Improvement will be the season's first guest star in I Ought To Be In Pictures. Barbara Eden from I Dream of Jeannie will star in Social Security. The Alhambra will debut a show it's never produced before in Alfred Hitchcock's 39 Steps, and bring back the classic,Man of La Mancha. This year the Alhambra will feature Shrek the Musical as its summer family show. The complete 2014 Season includes:

Pump Boys & Dinettes December 28 - February 2

Tod Booth will return as Creative Director and Producer for his 30th season. Executive Chef DeJuan Roy will be return for his third seasons in the kitchen, continuing the Alhambra's plated, seated dinner service. "Chef DeJuan and his staff and the culinary experience has received tremendous feedback from our patrons and critics," said Smith. 2013 was a benchmark year for what we were able to accomplish on stage and in the kitchen. We won a Best of Jacksonville award from Jacksonville Magazine and received Trip Advisors' highest honors. We are excited about continuing that momentum."
