Laurel Little Theatre announces the 53rd amazing season. FIRST UP - THE SEASON OPENER!
DISNEY'S AIDA
THE Elton John MUSICAL
August 1-4 & 10-11

The first stop of the season at the pyramids of Egypt is a story of the love of a boy and a girl from opposing tribes. It was first told in Verdi's famous opera that made Laurel's own Leontyne Price famous when she played the Princess Aida. Her recent children's book of the story was Sir Elton John's basis of his pop musical that features his hit song "Written In The Stars" that became a chart topper for Leanne Rimes.

His fun score mixes all kinds of music from pop, reggae and gospel with influences from Motown to Middle Eastern. The Broadway production won four Tony Awards including Best Musical Score, five National Theatre Awards including Best Musical and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Cast Recording.

Director Lacy Cockrell has a huge cast full of knock-out voices, and the show will run the first two weekends of August with performances at 7:30PM on August 1-2-3-10 and at 2PM on August 4 & 11. The reservation line opens July 25th and will answer 24 hours a day at 601-428-0140.

Season ticket holders save 49 percent. A regular single ticket runs $17, but a four-punch season ticket at either $30 (seniors or students), $35 (adults), $60 (two season tickets for a couple) or $105 (four season tickets for a family of four) makes for an average of just seven or eight dollars per punch - live theatre for less than the cost of a movie.

THE PATRONS' GALA - August 3rd

LLT Patrons are invited to join in the lobby of the Arabian Theatre at 6 PM on Saturday evening, August 3rd, for a special hour of cocktails and hors d´oeuvres, and then will have the benefit of being the first to select seats for that evening´s performance of AIDA. They'll also enjoy watching the last minute sound checks and stage preparations. Invitations to this event will be mailed to all levels of patrons.

Patrons will still need to call 601-428-0140 the week of the show to make a reservation for the August 3rd performance since a sell-out is expected for that evening.

Laurel Little Theatre is located in the historic 1927 Arabian Theatre At 408 5th Avenue. For more information, visit LaurelLittleTheatre.com, email LLTLaurelMS@aol.com or call 601.428.0140.
