Photo Flash: Castel Sant Angelo Opening Ceremony

The first hotel made of trash in the world opened next to Castel Sant Angelo in Rome, Italy On June 4, 2010.

The 'Corona Save the beach Hotel', is a hotel that has been built entirely from beach garbage.It has been conceptualized and designed by HA Schult, the German action artist, famous for his work Trash Men -in which thousands of life-sized human figures were made entirely of non-organic waste and were placed in emblematic places all around the world- the hotel will stay open until the 6th of June and for 3 days it will remind people of what could become of our planet if we don t look after and respect the environment. HA Schult is a pioneer in converting garbage into art. 'The philosophy of this hotel is to show the damage that we are causing to the sea and the coast. We are living in a time of rubbish, and we run the risk of becoming just that' says HA Schult.
