Welcome to this week's edition of BroadwayWorld's exclusive WEEKLY GROSSES ANALYSIS - read on for all the weekly grosses statistics for the movers and shakers from the latest grosses, for the week ending 3/18/2018.
This week, 30 shows played on Broadway, with 265,949 tickets sold and a total gross of $31,951,373. The average ticket price was $120.14.
The new musical Mean Girls saw a final weekly gross gross of $1,320,145.85 in its first week on Broadway, over seven completely sold-out performances. Produced by Lorne Michaels, Stuart Thompson, Sonia Friedman, and Paramount Pictures, Mean Girls is now in previews ahead of its Sunday, April 8th opening night at the August Wilson Theatre.
This was up the number of shows as last week and down 2 vs. the same week last year. Compared to last week, attendance was up 9.03%. Versus last year, attendance was up 4.10%. On the sales front, overall grosses were up 8.58% vs. last week and up 15.45% vs. this week last year. This week's average ticket price of $120.14 is down $-0.50 compared to last week and up $11.81 compared to last year.
