"You get a singer like this once in a generation or two," said Wynton Marsalis of three-time Grammy Award winner Cécile McLorin Salvant, one of the most extraordinary vocalists and storytellers in modern jazz. Celebrated for her spellbinding narratives and genre-bending artistry, Salvant masterfully weaves jazz, blues, theatre, and folk traditions into deeply emotional performances. Winner of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition and a MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship, she continues to captivate audiences worldwide with her imaginative interpretations and acclaimed projects including Ghost Song, Mélusine, and Ogresse—a groundbreaking musical fable she wrote and composed––and her most recent September 2025 release, Oh Snap. Among her most remarkable collaborations is with Grammy Award-winning pianist, composer, and bandleader Sullivan Fotner, recipient of the prestigious American Pianist Association Cole Porter Fellowship in Jazz. Fortner is celebrated for his soulful virtuosity, boundless imagination, and ability to blend deep jazz tradition with daring innovation. His acclaimed albums Aria, Moments Preserved, and Solo Game (a 2025 Grammy nominee) showcase his remarkable artistry. A frequent collaborator with luminaries including Wynton Marsalis, Dianne Reeves, and the late Roy Hargrove, Fortner's partnership with Salvant has produced the Grammy-winning The Window and the critically lauded Ghost Song. Together, Salvant and Fortner create musical alchemy—transforming each performance into an intimate, soul-stirring experience. Witness this extraordinary duo up close in a rare evening on The Cabaret stage.
