Muraled as a "Keeper of Culture" in Downtown Indianapolis, Mariah Ivey is a writer, poet, musician, and curator whose dynamic artistry bridges poetry, hip-hop, and jazz. A 2016 Art & Soul alumna, 2025-26 Artists at Work Fellow, and proud Indianapolis native, Ivey's multidisciplinary practice explores art as a vessel for healing, renewal, and collective care. Her work has been featured on platforms including TEDx, the Jordan Brand, and "Art is Life" East Coast Poetry Tour. She has performed at renowned venues such as The Vogue, The Jazz Kitchen, and the Historic Madam Walker Theatre, and has opened for icons like Arrested Development, Anthony Hamilton, Doug E. Fresh, and Beverly Bond, founder of Black Girls Rock. Known for her genre-bending live performances, Ivey blends storytelling, spoken word, hip-hop, and jazz into a seamless, immersive experience--where live instrumentation, powerful lyricism, and narrative collide in surprising and soulful ways.
