Astrid S. Releases 'Emotion' Music Video, Shot in Iceland

Today pop star Astrid S reveals the acoustic version of her latest single 'Emotion', The single is out via Island Records. The video, shot in Iceland, follows a distraught, conflicted Astrid as she struggles to escape a destructive relationship with herself.

"I wanted the video to show a loving but toxic relationship. I also wanted it to show a different side of the song - how you sometimes can be your own biggest enemy - being self-destructive.

To me the song could be about any kind of relationship. It could be a friend, family member, boyfriend, girlfriend or yourself. I hope this video makes it possible for people to interpret it in their own way and relate to it with their own story."

'Emotion' is the first music to come from Astrid S this year and was debuted as Adele Roberts' 'Best New Pop' play on her Radio 1 show. It follows last year's hit 'Think Before I Talk', which was her first number 1 single in her home country of Norway. Both tracks follow her highly-successful sophomore EP 'Party's Over', which featured hit singles 'Breathe', and 'Such A Boy'. Her 'Party's Over' tour was her largest tour yet, selling out shows across Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America. To date, Astrid S has amassed nearly one billion streams.

Astrid S released her debut, self-titled EP in 2016 which included the breakthrough, 5x Platinum-certified single 'Hurts So Good' - the official video for which is currently at 16 million views and counting. Astrid won her first MTV EMA Award for Best Norwegian Act in 2016 and shortly after received her first Norwegian Grammy Award for 'Newcomer of the Year'. She then went on to receive the Spelleman 'Artist of the year 2017' Grammy only a year later. In 2016 she opened for Troye Sivan in Europe and North America before heading out on her first European headline tour, which sold out in a matter of hours.
