“Call it a rock concert with a story to tell … I’ll just call it wonderful” Charles Isherwood, NY Times

This beautifully written and fierce musical, complete with on-stage rock band, features the talented Rodrick Randall as Narrator, David Allen III as Youth, RaMina Mirmortazavi as Mother, Cantrell Williams as Mr. Franklin/Ensemble, Estee Burks as Marianna/Ensemble, JaMes Phillips as Desi/Ensemble and Orlanders Jones as Rev. Jones/Ensemble.
Performances will be held at Obsidian Theater, 3522 White Oak Drive, Houston TX on Feb 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 20, 23, 24, 25 and March 2, 3, 4 at 8pm and one Sunday performance on Feb 26 at 3pm. Tickets are $27.50 to $37.50 and can be purchase online at www.obsidiantheater.org
This is an irreverent retelling with no apologies about what it is doing. The performers know this, and camp it up to the level of… well… that drag queen who hosts the whole thing.
