On February 25, Houston Symphony presents an outer-space adventure with action-packed music from Star Wars, E.T., The Planets, and more live at Jones Hall. From the moon to Mars and beyond, this concert will transport your child’s imagination to a galaxy far, far away! Plus, enjoy free kid-friendly activities, including our popular Instrument Petting Zoo. Children of all ages, including infants, are welcome at Family Series performances. All patrons must have a ticket when entering the concert venue. Lap children are welcome for free. For lap child tickets, please contact our Patron Services Center at 713.224.7575, 12 noon–6 p.m., Monday–Saturday.

Houston Symphony Announces October Lineup

The Houston Symphony is observing Halloween this year with a weekend of performances of Hector Berlioz’s masterpiece of the macabre, Symphonie fantastique. This month’s classical subscription concerts feature the famed Berlioz symphonic wild ride, as well as Dame Jane Glover’s and Italian conductor Jader Bignamini’s return to the Jones Hall podium, and Symphony Principal Flute Aralee Dorough and Principal Bassoon Rian Craypo stepping forward to perform soloist roles.

Houston Symphony Extends Cancelations

In response to recent Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations, the Houston Symphony announced that it is extending its concert cancelations, canceling all remaining concerts and community activities through May 10, 2020 in order to protect the health of audiences, orchestra and chorus members, and staff.

Houston Symphony Performs Tchaikovsky's PATHETIQUE

Finnish conductor John Storgårds returns to the Houston Symphony to conduct Tchaikovsky's Pathétique and internationally recognized violinist Vadim Gluzman in the program Tchaikovsky's a?oePathétiquea?? at 8 p.m. Jan. 17 & 18 and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 19. This performance marks the North American premiere performances of Midnight Sun Variations, a new work dedicated to Storgårds by Finnish composer Outi Tarkiainen.
