A Black Christmas Carol at Hambrick Middle School Theater

Meet Pastor Scrooge, a man whose heart is as cold as the winter solstice and whose wallet is tighter than his grip on the pulpit. In this hilarious and heartfelt stage play, Scrooge isn’t just mean; he’s aggressively cheap, routinely cheating the homeless and turning his congregation into a battlefield of passive-aggressive hymns. His past is a tangled web of regret, but present-day Scrooge prefers to ignore it in favor of counting pennies. But Christmas Eve brings an uninvited guest list. The Ghosts of Past, Present, and Future arrive not with solemnity, but with comedic chaos. The Ghost of Christmas Past digs up buried trauma; the Ghost of Christmas Present highlights the joy Scrooge has systematically eliminated; and the Ghost of Christmas Future? Let’s just say Scrooge’s behavior caused one spectral assignment to quit out of sheer frustration. As the spirits guide him through a night of absurdity and self-reflection, Scrooge must confront the damage he’s caused. Can a man who would rather mend a sock than feed a stranger find redemption before the clock strikes midnight? *A Black Christmas Carol* blends sharp wit, musical flair, and genuine emotion in a story that proves it’s never too late for a change of heart. Don’t miss the season’s most unexpected miracle. Tickets available now!!
