When and Where:
Friday, March 30, 2012 at 8:00 PM at the Wortham Center in the Cullen Theater
Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 8:00 PM at The Clarion at Brazosport College
Ticket Prices: $22, $42, and $59
Monica Huggett is widely known for her prowess on the violin and tours frequently as a soloist appearing all around the world with many different ensembles. Recently appointed artistic director of the Juilliard School’s Historical Performance Program in New York, she is one of the most celebrated and venerable figures in today’s early music scene.
The concert program was designed to showcase Ms. Huggett’s extraordinary talent and skill. The pieces that were chosen are some of the more technically challenging of the baroque era. The specific composers were chosen for the program because the composers themselves were all virtuoso violinists. Not surprisingly they are responsible for some of the most elaborate compositions of the time period, and to this day some of the most difficult to master.
