The Open-Door Playhouse is a podcast that supports new and emerging writers by producing plays in the style of the live Radio Plays popular in the 1940s & 50s. Over the past 5 years we have produced over 185 playys on the podcsast, during the COVID-19 PANDEMIC and the Actors strike in 2024. Writers from all over the world submit their plays due to the high standard of production value. Actors of all ages reach out to be part of the productions: comedy, social issues, dramas and selected holiday. We work with PEN America producing plays written by men and women lilving on thed 'inside' of prisons throughout the United States. WE have had two plays Nominated for Webby Awards - What's Prison Like? in 2023 and Custody in 2025.
