Paul A. Kaplan Theatre Management Program - Early Career Professional Training

Manhattan Theatre Club's Paul A. Kaplan Theatre Management Program offers Early Career Professional Training positions that provide intensive on-the-job training in producing not-for-profit theatre on and off Broadway. Trainees are placed in departments such as the Artistic Office, Company Management, Learning & Community Engagement, Literary, Marketing Management, Marketing Strategy, Production Management, and Special Events, work with a supervisor and a mentor, attend an educational seminar series and career coaching, and receive complimentary tickets. Positions are full-time and in-person (35 hours per week at $700 per week with benefits), running September 8, 2026 to about May 28, 2027; the 2026-27 application is closed, with 2027-28 information expected in early 2027.

No college degree required; no high school students; may apply to up to 2 departments; international trainees must secure own visa (MTC cannot sponsor)

Verified on MTC site (updated July 2026). ~400 applicants/year, 50-70 interviewed. Literary track is a dramaturgy/literary-management pathway. Over 25% of MTC permanent staff are alumni.
