Overview

The Mike Ockrent Fellowship, established in 2001 by the late director's family through the SDC Foundation, places an early-career director or choreographer alongside an experienced director or choreographer on a big-budget Broadway musical or play for the full production process. Candidates must be SDC Members or Associate Members; finalists are interviewed by the mentor, who selects the recipient. The fellowship opens only when aligned with a suitable production, so there is no fixed schedule.

Eligibility

SDC Member or Associate Member in good standing; early-career director or choreographer.

Notes

Recent recipient Rebecca Kritzer mentored by Leigh Silverman and Mayte Natalio on Suffs. No set schedule.
