Overview
MTF Makers is Musical Theatre Factory's incubator residency for individual artists and creative pairs working across disciplines to expand musical storytelling through a justice-driven, interdisciplinary approach. Makers receive paid, tailored resources including dramaturgical support, research opportunities, table reads, concerts and labs, rehearsal space at The Factory Floor, a monthly financial wellness stipend, promotional media, and mentorship from MTF's artistic leadership. In return they attend bi-monthly cohort meetings, host or facilitate at least two MTF programs, and engage with the MTF community.
Eligibility
Individual writers and creative teams developing new musicals; justice-driven, interdisciplinary focus; NYC-based (Factory Floor at Playwrights Horizons).
Notes
MTF's new programming model offers multiple pathways (labs, dramaturgical consulting, co-productions). Cohort IV applications opened Feb 2025.
