Overview

The Harold Prince/Kurt Weill Fellowship, established in 2013 by the Kurt Weill Foundation for Music and administered by the SDC Foundation, places an early-career director or choreographer as an associate on a production of a stage work by Kurt Weill or Marc Blitzstein under a master director or choreographer. Eligible works span musical theatre, opera, operetta and dance, and the production is chosen by the Weill Foundation. SDC Members and Associate Members may apply; timing varies year to year depending on available productions.

Eligibility

SDC Members and Associate Members; early-career director or choreographer; finalists interviewed by mentor.

Notes

Established 2013. Open to choreographers as well as directors (works may include musical theater, opera, operetta, dance). Timeline shifts year to year. Not to be confused with The Prince Fellowship (TF-204), a producing fellowship.
