The Berkeley Rep Next Generation Fellowship is a full-time, 11-month program in Berkeley, CA offering hands-on training across production and administrative departments; the Stage Management fellow joins AEA stage management teams on three to four LORT productions per season, from production meetings through tech, runs and understudy rehearsals. All fellows receive a $1,250 monthly stipend, shared housing with utilities, up to $250 travel reimbursement, complimentary tickets, workshops and mentorship from senior staff. Stage management, company management and production management fellows begin in late July; applications for 2026/27 are closed.
Works with AEA stage management teams under the LORT agreement on 3-4 productions per season, from production meetings through runs; may shadow the calling SM or rotate into stage operations, props, or production management.
