Overview

Chautauqua Theater Company's Acting Conservatory is a summer training ensemble of primarily graduate-level actors, founded by Michael Kahn and now led by Producing Artistic Director Jade King Carroll. Conservatory members are cast in CTC mainstage productions, new play workshops and the FutureNow New Play Labs, take master classes with faculty, and live in company housing on the Chautauqua Institution grounds with a travel stipend and gate pass. The 2026 company of nine actors, drawn from programs such as Juilliard, NYU and Yale, is posted on the page.

Eligibility

14 actors selected nationally; heavily MFA candidates and recent graduates. Members play leading roles in mainstage and New Play Workshop productions.
