West Fargo Summer Arts Intensive Musical Theatre Camp, Formerly Moorhead Horizon Middle School Musical Theatre will present "Once on This Island, Jr" on July 1st at 7:00 pm and 2nd at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm at West Fargo High School Theatre, 801 9th Street East, West Fargo, ND. Over 50 middle school aged students from Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo are participating in this camp, which started June 10.

"Once on This Island, Jr" is a captivating musical tale of love, loss and redemption performed by a group of island peasants as they wait out a violent storm. The legend they tell is of a young peasant girl who falls in love with a rich boy. She leaves her village in search of the boy, sent on a journey by the gods of her island to test the ultimate strength of love. The story is the peasants' version of what became of the girl, filtered through their faith and their imaginations. With a calypso-flavored score using simple language and continuous song and dance, this re-telling of The Little Mermaid delivers melody, love and joy in tropical abundance.

Kelly Dubois-Gerchak leads a talented team of local educators and professionals who assists the young people who will sing, act, and dance. Other artistic team members include Sue Knorr Assistant Director/Music, Kathy Ferreria, Music Director and Patrick Kasper Choreography. SUMMER ARTS INTENSIVE is made possible through collaboration with the West Fargo Public Schools.

Don't miss this Caribbean fairy tale told in rousing song and dance. West Fargo Summer Arts Intensive Musical Theatre Camp will bring to life the novel "My Love, My Love" by Rosa Guy on July 1st @ 7:00 pm and July 2nd @ 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
