Equity actor for role in THE ROAD TO MECCA by Athol Fugard.
Bay Area actors encouraged to submit.
ELSA - Caucasian British South African woman in her late 20s. School teacher with high ideals and strong political beliefs about freedom and equality. At this point in her life she has no separation between her personal rage and her rage at apartheid. For her the political is personal and vice versa. It is all about freedom. Elsa arrives filled with self recrimination and self loathing due to her disastrous choice of a relationship. On her way here she has just experienced yet another horrific example of the inequality in South Africa in 1974. Feisty, funny, playful, a good storyteller.
