BREAKDOWN

STORY LINE :

For Pete the Cat, life is an adventure no matter where you wind up. So the minute the groovy blue cat meets The Biddles, he gets the whole family rocking. That is, except for young Jimmy Biddle, the most organized second grader on planet Earth. But when Jimmy draws a blank in art class during the last week of school, it turns out Pete is the perfect pal to help him out. Together, they set out on a mission to help Jimmy conquer second grade art, and along the way, they both learn a little something new about inspiration. Join Jimmy and Pete on an adventure of friendship, all the way to Paris and back in a VW Bus!

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN :

(No roles will be understudied)

[MOM] (Female, 18+) Sandy Biddle, an eccentric mom. Plays multiple other roles including a melodramatic teacher and a hip blues-playing Toad. Vocally versatile: from an operatic aria to a grumpy toad’s blues. Comical, bold, brassy.

[JIMMY] - (Male, 18+ actor to play 7-year-old) Jimmy Biddle, the son of Sandy and Arthur Biddle. Jimmy is a brainy, super-organized kid whose world is turned upside down by the arrival of the messy, groovy cat. Comic, naturally cheerful, but a little closed-minded and prone to panic. Tenor to a high A.

[PETE] (Male, 18+) The cat who never loses his cool. A mellow, free agent with a zest for life. Pete is a skateboard-riding, older-brother type, who oozes with charm and is always super groovy.

[OLIVE] (Female, 18+ to play 5-year-old) Olive Biddle, the daughter of Sandy and Arthur Biddle, Jimmy’s little sister. Energetic, weird, and delightful. Totally open-minded and hilariously allergic to cats. Also plays various other comic roles. Can belt like a rock star when necessary.

[DAD] (Male, 18+) Arthur Biddle, a silly, nervous dad who secretly longs to rock out. Also plays multiple other comic roles, including a guitar-playing platypus. Vocally versatile, strong falsetto a plus.
