- LIBERATION

SYNOPSIS: In 1970s Ohio, a young journalist named Lizzie brings together a diverse group of women to meet at their local rec center. Once a week, they gather in the overused basketball court to discuss and debate the unique issues they face as individuals and the fight for women's liberation they face as a collective — as well as the complex, sometimes conflicting ways the two intersect.

Fifty years later, Lizzie's daughter delves into this chapter of her mother's past,

to understand why the gains the movement made feel like they are slipping — and why her mother chose to leave it all behind.
