Actors for three (3) productions: LOST TEMPO by Cliff Odle; ELEMENO PEA by Molly Smith Metzler; BRAWLER by Walt McGough

PREPARATION

Perform a prepared monologue or read sides from one of the scripts; a reader will be provided at the audition. Scripts will be available at StageSource, Inc., and in the foyer of Boston Playwrights' Theatre before auditions dates.

SYNOPSIS: Jazz musician faces addiction, musical and otherwise (a drama).

Willie “Cool” Jones:
Male, late 20s, African-American, confident jazz musician but struggling with addiction.

Mort Hershel:
Male, 20s-30s, Jewish/white. Record producer, fan of jazz, audacious.

Lane Blake:
Male, late 20s, African-American, jazz musician, cocky.

Langford “Mack” McDaniels:
Male, mid-50s, African-American, jazz veteran, weathered and wise.

John “Sporty” Dale:
Male, early 20s, African-American, happy-go-lucky jazz drummer.

Barbara “Babs” Rosenbaum:
Female, late 20s, half-African-American/half-Jewish, confident, in love with Cool.

Sheila “She-She” Jones:
Female, early 30s, African-American, Cool’s older sister; devout Muslim.
