SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
SINGERS: Please prepare a brief singing selection (ideally a minute or less) in the style of the score – contemporary pop/Latin/etc. – demos are available for reference at the Americano! website.

If you do not have access to audition accompaniment tracks of your own, the theatre has provided audition accompaniment cuts of Irving Berlin's Always, now in the public domain, which you are welcome to use
as a general singing audition. Per Equity rules, it has been provided in 4 separate keys (Soprano/Alto/Tenor/Bass) and tracks/sheet music can be obtained from:

DANCERS: Please record our combination, choreographed and taught by Sergio Mejia, the choreographer of Americano! We have a “Mover” combo and a more advanced “Dancer” combo – please pick whichever is
most appropriate for your skill level. Feel free to wear whatever shoes work best for you, and we encourage you to film this anywhere you are able to work comfortably. Music backing tracks for each choreographed

In order to fulfill Equity safety plan approvals, a fully-vaccinated company will be required.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of audition.

[CARLOS LEDESMA] 40s, male, Latino. A very eloquent speaker, smart politician, sincere, parental figure to Tony. Very charismatic and outspoken. Strong vocalist, lyric baritone.

[SCOTT RICHTER] 50s, male, white, born in Arizona. Owner of the construction company. smart, concise, no nonsense, loyal to Voldovinos family, a businessman. Baritone, ensemble vocals with some step-outs.

[MANNY PEREZ] 30s, male, Cuban. Big guy with a big voice, funny - strong on the outside, very sweet and loyal on inside. Outspoken worker at construction site. A leader among the workers. Has a natural bond with Tony. Tenor, ensemble vocals with some step-outs.

[CELSO HERNANDEZ] late 20s to early 30s, male, Mexican. A bit anxious, non-citizen of U.S, friendly, hard worker, very loyal, very respectful; all around good guy. Strong dancer - tenor vocals, ensemble vocals with some step-outs.

[GIGI/HARRIET OCHARO] 30s, female, Black. [GIGI] Kind, anxious, wants to be a friend to all, well-spoken, a genuine friend. [HARRIET] intelligent, sophisticated business style, professional, not easily rattled. Mezzo/belter with strong dance. Featured vocals throughout show, including solos.

[JOAQUIN ORTIZ] 30s to early 40s, male, Latino. Outrageous, gay, very funny in a very straight forward way. Clever, smart, well spoken, highly charismatic. Dancer - ensemble vocals, with a feature.

[RECRUITER] 30s-40s, male, Black. A true marine. Very smart, business friendly, charismatic. Baritone. Good ensemble dancer.

[JAVI GARCIA] early 20s, male, Latino. Tries to be macho, very insecure, gay, but not willing to accept it. Loves Tony, but won’t say it and Tony does not know. Endangered, fragile, can be out spoken. Only Tony can really manage him. Baritenor with solo - strong dancer.

[FEMALE ENSEMBLE 1] 20s, female, any ethnicity. Strong singer-dancer.

[FEMALE ENSEMBLE 2] 20s, female, Latina. Strong singer-dancer.

[FEMALE ENSEMBLE 3] 30s-40s, female, Latina. Strong singer-dancer.
