The Barn Theatre School to Stage RED, WHITE AND TUNA

Get ready for a side-splitting, patriotic laugh riot starring two Barn favorites, Joe Aiello and Scott Burkell! The Barn Theatre School presents RED, WHITE AND TUNA, a comedy by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard playing ONE WEEK August 30 - September 4.

Barn heavyweights Joe Aiello and Scott Burkell lead you through the hysterical third installment of the Tuna trilogy. Buckle up for another satirical ride into the hearts and minds of the polyester-clad citizens of Texas' third smallest town. Along with Tuna's perennial favorites, some new Tuna denizens burst into the 4th of July Tuna High School Class Reunion. This sets the stage for a show full of fireworks and fun from the land where the Lion's Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies. Catch Joe Aiello and Scott Burkell take on this entire cast of cooky characters!

It's been several years since we left Bertha and Arles dancing at the end of A Tuna Christmas...Did the romance blossom? Has Didi Snavley received any "cosmic" communications from R.R.'s UFO? Did Stanley make his fortune in the Albuquerque taxidermy business? These and other burning questions will be asked and answered in the side-splitting spoof of life in rural America.

RED, WHITE, AND TUNA is directed by Brendan Ragotzy. Costumes are designed by Hans Friedrichs. Scenic Designer/Artist is Michael Wilson Morgan and Technical Director is John Dobson. Sound is designed by Michael McShane. Lighting is designed by Molly Lamperis. Properties are designed by Hannah Eakin and Hans Friedrichs.

Performances for RED, WHITE, AND TUNA are Tuesday - Saturday at 8:00 pm and Sunday at 5:00 pm August 30 - September 4. ONLY ONE WEEK!

Scott Burkell, Guest Artist
Scott is very happy to be sharing the stage with long-time fellow Barnie Joe Aiello. Scott delighted audiences earlier this season in the hysterical comedy BUYER & CELLAR. As a performer, Scott has appeared in the Broadway and First National tour productions of TITANIC and was recently part of the concert staging at New York's Avery Fisher Hall. The past two holiday seasons he was in his own play, HO HO HUMBUG, at the Stark Naked Theatre in Houston, Texas. Originally from Michigan he got his Equity card and worked for 25 seasons here at the Barn. Shows here include SWEENEY TODD, GREATER TUNA, A TUNA CHRISTMAS, SHE LOVES ME, ROCKY HORROR, HAIR, FIDDLER, A FEW GOOD MEN, and many, many others. He also has performed locally at The Farmers Alley Theatre in Kalamazoo in productions of PARADE, GOD OF CARNAGE, THE 39 STEPS, PLAID TIDINGS and A CATERED AFFAIR. He also worked for several seasons at Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota where he was in 3 POSTCARDS, PRELUDE TO A KISS, THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM, EXECUTION OF JUSTICE, THE WONDER YEARS, BLUE PLATE SPECIAL and NO WAY TO TREAT A LADY. As a cabaret performer Scott created with his writing partner Paul Loesel two original shows, LOVE SONGS AND OTHER CRAP (MAC nominated) and HAIRLESS AND RIPPED which played at Don't'Tell Mama and The Firebird. Scott and Paul also performed an evening of their material at the Kennedy Center and Scott is featured on their debut CD, A SORTA LOVE SONG on the Sh-K-Boom label. Their musical THE EXTRAORDINARY ORDINARY played off Broadway at the Clurman Theatre in NYC and their musical LMNOP has had recent productions at the Norma Terris Theatre, as part of the Goodspeed Theatre's new works program in Connecticut and as part of the TUTS Underground Series in Houston, Texas.
