Cinderella and the Cookie Caper, written by St. Dunstan's member Jake Zinke, is a charming new holiday-themed show for kids! This is the fourth children's play written and directed by Zinke at St. Dunstan's. These shows have been incredibly popular over the years, not only for children but for the parents too!

This year, join Cinderella for the holiday edition of her cooking show, Ironing Chef! When she invites two of her friends, Captain Hook and Peter Pan, to see who can make the best fairytale gingerbread, ingredients are mixed up and chaos ensues! The ingredients mix up a very mischievous cookie indeed--the Gingerbread Man! Will Captain Hook and Peter Pan be able to put aside their differences and work together with Cinderella to stop the troublesome treat? Join us to find out!

The show will run about 45 minutes and is filled with fun and interaction for the children, as they learn to appreciate the joys of a live theater performance. The St. Dunstan's production is recommended for children from ages 2 to 10, and anyone older who is young at heart and loves to laugh and pretend.

Director and author, Jake Zinke (West Bloomfield) is a St. Dunstan's member and is also a speech-language pathologist in West Bloomfield School District, so Children's Theatre is a perfect fit for Jake. "Kids love when they get to interact with the characters on the stage. In this show, kids will get to sing songs with Cinderella, Captain Hook, and the other characters, and even help Cinderella to cast a spell to freeze Hook and Peter Pan when they're arguing!"

Zinke is also excited to present an original play that ties into the social justice theme of St. Dunstan's current season. Cinderella and her magic dragon, Puff, plan to donate food from their cooking show to a local food pantry. In similar fashion, audience members are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and toiletries with them when they see the show. The cast will present the donated items to Lighthouse of Oakland County, an organization that provides support and services to families facing economic hardship and helps them move from crisis toward self-sufficiency.

The cast includes:

Cinderella: Stephanie Peltier (Royal Oak)

Puff, the Dragon: Arielle Olkhovsky (Commerce)

Captain Hook: Janay Duncan (Shelby Twp)

Peter Pan: Heather Clement (Royal Oak)

Tinkerbell: Blair Fris (Troy)
