Bay City Players will hold auditions for its Stages of Discovery production, the play The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood by Mary Lynn Dobson, on Tuesday, June 15 and Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Auditions will be held at Bay City Players, 1214 Columbus Avenue, in Bay City. Please arrive a few minutes early to fill out audition forms. Performance dates are August 5-8, 2010.

Director Jessica McFarland is looking for students 8-17 years old.
Also needed are youth to work with lighting, sound,
backstage, costumes and publicity as well as several parent volunteers.

This is a frantically funny, Monty Pythonesque retelling of the classic. This time around, the legendary legend, in his never-ending quest to aid the needy, encounters a lovely damsel-in-distress (oddly obsessed with skin conditions); an ever-scheming sheriff who would rather bowl a strike than hit a bulls eye; a gold-hoarding, bad-guy monarch wannabe; and a good-natured "Town's Guy", who manages to make his way into every scene, whether he belongs there or not. Combine them with an expandable band of spoon-wielding Merry Men, whose collective IQs equal six, and you've got an irreverent jaunt through Sherwood Forest you won't soon forget!

Auditions are open to the public and newcomers are welcome. Those auditioning will be asked
to read selections from the script. Scripts are available for check-out from the Theatre Office for a
$10 refundable deposit and due back no later than Friday, June 11th. Please contact the office
Monday through Friday from 9am to 1pm at (989) 893-5555 for more information.
