LIVE AT THE TEMPLE (SIX CONCERT PACKAGE):
DAVID WAX MUSEUM (Wednesday, March 2, 1011) -Recently anointed as Boston's Americana Artist of the Year (2010 Boston Music Awards), the David Wax Museum has been called "one of Boston's hottest new bands" (Boston Globe) and "a revelation" (Providence Journal). It is no surprise that their acclaimed performance at the 2010 Newport Folk Festival was hailed as one of NPR's All Songs Considered Highlights of the entire weekend. The Museum's ability to fuse traditional Mexican folk with country, folk and rock, creating an utterly unique Mexo-Americana aesthetic, is what generates its contemporary sound and its broad appeal. Combining Latin rhythms, call-and-response hollering, accordion pumping and donkey jawbone rattling, they have electrified audiences across the country. And they've just gotten started.
DE TEMPS ANTAN (Friday, March 11, 2011) - Since 2003, Éric Beaudry, André Brunet and Pierre-Luc Dupuis have been exploring and performing time-honored melodies from the stomping grounds of Quebec's musical past. Using fiddle, accordion, harmonica, guitar, bouzouki and a number of other instruments, our three virtuosos blend boundless energy with the unmistakable joie de vivre found only in traditional Quebec music. In fact, the only thing missing from this magnificent musical blend is you! So come enjoy an evening unlike any other with De Temps Antan!
VANCE GILBERT (Friday, March 25, 2011) - Vance Gilbert burst onto the singer/songwriter scene in the early 90's when buzz started spreading in the folk clubs of Boston about an ex-multicultural arts teacher who was knocking 'em dead at open mics. Eight critically acclaimed albums later, Vance continues to refine his unlikely union of humor, virtuosity, and the unexpected. "...the voice of an angel, the wit of a devil, and the guitar playing of a god..." - Fort Worth Star-Telegram
SONOS (Wednesday, April 6, 2011) - Los Angeles cutting-edge vocal collective Sonos emerged from the college a cappella scene, Sonos turned the genre on its head with bold interpretations of 21st century classics - reinventing artists like Radiohead and Fleet Foxes to the Jackson 5 and Britney Spears. Varied backgrounds and musical training - composition, music education, musical theater, jazz, opera, and acting - allows different musical colors and influences to come through in the group's music. "A vocal group that's hipper than 'Glee.'" - AOL City's Best, L.A.
CATIE CURTIS (Friday, April 15, 2011) - Boston-based singer/songwriter Catie Curtis has been a fan favorite on the acoustic music scene for a number of years now. Called a "folk-rock goddess" by The New Yorker, her 15-year career has spawned 10 critically-acclaimed recordings. She is represented by Nashville-based record label Compass Records and has a devoted fan base. With her live shows, film and TV placements, the 2006 International Songwriting Competition Grand Prize, and now the Hello Stranger string-band project, Curtis has proven that she's the real deal: a musician with the kind of raw talent and artistic maturity that makes her a force to be reckoned with, albeit a sweet force.
DALA (Sunday, May 1, 2011) - Dala features vocal harmonies guaranteed to give you chills. Duo members Sheila and Amanda also make use of their considerable talents on guitar and piano to create a unique brand of acoustic pop. Their fun and energetic stage presence has made DALA a fan favorite at festivals across the country.
