In this musical comedy based off the film of the same name, six down-on-their-luck steel workers create their own strip-tease act after seeing their wives enthusiasm for a group of Chippendale’s, and end up reclaiming their lives in the process.
Despite losing their jobs, despite struggling to maintain relationships with their wives and children, the boys have a shining bit of optimism that manages to shine through their dreary circumstances. In songs like the hilariously dark “Big Ass Rock,” or the moving “Breeze off the River,” the journey to going “the full monty” is full of absurdist gallows humor and a whole lot of heart.
