Possum Point Players to Present LEADING LADIES

By: Jan. 07, 2015

Possum Point Players are setting the stage and have set the table as they present the Ken Ludwig comedy, "Leading Ladies," for dinner theatre. Production dates are Jan. 30 and 31 and Feb. 1, 6, 7 and 8. Fridays and Saturdays, dinner 6:00 pm, show 7:30 pm; Sundays, dinner 12:30 pm, show 2:00 pm. Tickets are $45 for dinner and show; $20 show only.

"Leading Ladies" follows the antics of a couple of Shakespearean actors who are finding that all the world is no longer their stage. They are reduced to playing Scenes from Shakespeare on the Moose Lodge circuit in Pennsylvania Amish country when they hear of a wealthy dowager who is not long for this world, stage or no. She is searching for her long lost British nephews to make sure her wealth finds a good home once she leaves this mortal coil. Ever enterprising, the actors are quick as cockney on the trail of a fat inheritance when they learn that there is gender confusion. The long-lost Brits are, indeed, of the fairer sex. Of course, as sure as there is shoofly pie, there are mix-ups in make-up, some mendacity spread around, romance blooms and the whole concoction leads to laughter.

Tickets may be purchased on line at possumpointplayers.org or by calling the players' ticketline, 302-856-4560.
