Tecumseh High School’s THE BOY FRIEND Opens 3/23 at the Pflaumer Auditorium

By:

Tecumseh High School's award-winning and nationally known theatre program's anticipated musical The Boy Friend opens March 23 at the Pflaumer Auditorium.

The limited 6-performance engagement will run through Friday, March 30.

The opening night will begin with a Red Carpet Premiere featuring the cast, crew, creative team, and special guests whom are known in the Theatre, Television/Film, Radio, and Print industries. The red carpet event was arranged in an attempt to honor Tecumseh as the newly tagged feeder school to Broadway, as many alumni are successfully working in Chicago, Hollywood, LA, and NYC (Amy Harber, Tyler Maynard, Patrick Stafford, and Cody Spellman, just to name a few).

The cast features Dallas James Pritt (DayTony Winner and MTV Performer) as Tony Brockhurst, Sydney Back as Polly Browne, Natalie Wilson as Maisie, John Grusenmeyer as Bobby Van Husen, Alison Eisentrager as Madame DuBonnet and Tim Ward as Percival Browne. Other notable performers include Lainey Ward as Lady Brockhurst, Victor Hanrahan as Lord Brockhurst and Chelsea Hammond and Courtney Mulford alternating in the role of Dulcie.
The Boy Friend is a 1920's spoof romantic musical comedy by Sandy Wilson, which launched the career of the legendary Ms. Julie Andrews. It is directed by regional Emmy Winner Don McKenny and is conducted by the Dayton Opera's Jeffery Powell. They are joined by Melinda Lombard (Vocal Director), Nikki Nathan (Choreographer) and Justin Hoke (Associate Director).

The production has caused some buzz within the Broadway community as YouTube videos have been made for Susan Blackwell, the cast of Newsies and even one made from Becky Gulsvig. The opening night's after party will be covered in decorations donated by the Roundabout Theatre Company and Marquee Merchandise.

Call 937-845-4500 for tickets and visit www.TheBoyFriendTecumseh.webs.com for more information. (Pre-ordered tickets are only available until March 20.)
