Victoria Ballet Theatre Inc

Victoria Ballet Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dance company based at 204 N Main Street in Victoria, Texas, founded in 1984 with a mission to enrich Victoria and surrounding communities through performance and educational programming. Its first production was a full-length Swan Lake staged in Riverside Park, and today the company presents an annual Nutcracker plus spring and fall programs of full-length classical ballets, newly commissioned classical and contemporary works, and choreography by local, national and international guest artists, while also developing work by emerging young choreographers. Since 2001 its outreach arm, the Dance Education and Movement Initiative (DEMI), has provided free ballet and tap instruction, scholarships, dancewear, costumes, transportation and discounted performance tickets to young people in Victoria County, working in partnership with Victoria Independent School District, the Boys & Girls Club of Victoria and its partner school, Ballet Academy of South Texas. VBT also presents daytime educational matinees for area school children for every production in its season.
