Abilene Ballet Theatre

Abilene Ballet Theatre is a non-profit ballet company and school in Abilene, Texas. Classes are open to the general public and membership of the ballet company is not required to enroll; students must be three by Labor Day to begin. Training runs from age 3 through adult, including a Thursday morning adult ballet class charged monthly or by the class, and a homeschool ballet class for ages 6-8. The organization stages an annual Nutcracker production and raises funds for costumes, tutus and set pieces as well as scholarships that send dancers to prestigious summer intensives. Its summer program includes Cinderella's Enchanting Dance Camp for ages 3 and 4, Clara's Dreamy Dance Camp and Broadway Babies Jazz Camp for ages 5 to 8, and a week-long Summer Intensive plus regular ballet classes for students aged 9 and up. The theatre runs its own dancewear shop stocked to its class dress code. Alumnus Alexander Maryianowski won a lifetime contract with the Paris Opera Ballet.
