About this studio
United Taps is an online tap dance education program founded in 2006 by Rod Howell, based in Simi Valley, California. Rather than a walk-in studio it delivers a structured video curriculum covering absolute beginners through advanced dancers, sold as a one-off lifetime All Access Pass rather than a subscription. The material includes graded lessons with close-up breakdowns of the feet, full choreography, exercises and a 315-entry tap dictionary, arranged as a sequenced roadmap that tells students what to learn next. The program is aimed particularly at adult beginners, and is also marketed to tap teachers as a class-preparation resource, with a separate teacher-facing view of the same content. Howell has 35 years of teaching experience and works as a choreographer. Purchases carry a 30-day money-back guarantee, and the site also runs an outreach program.
