The Yvette Dance Studio, also known as Yvette Dance Studio of Performing Arts, is at 118 Walnut Avenue in Cranford, New Jersey and says it has provided dance training for more than 65 years, teaching from pre-school age through adults. Pre-Dance is an eight-week, 45-minute introduction to rhythm, coordination, musicality and tumbling for potty-trained children; Pre-School and Kindergarten classes combine story dances and songs with elementary tap and ballet. Ballet runs beginner to advanced with barre and center work, character work in every class, and pointe once strength allows. Other classes cover tap, tap and ballet combinations, jazz, hip hop and modern, which requires concurrent ballet study. The studio fields the Moving Youth Dance Company and holds an annual demonstration.
