About this studio
The Children's Ballet is Hendricks County's home for classical ballet, teaching in Indiana since 1987 with studios in Danville and Plainfield. The school describes 37 years of accessible dance education and community performances, and aims to give high-quality instruction while instilling self-discipline, dedication, positive self-esteem and an appreciation for the art of dance in a safe studio environment. Training is graded from Ballet I through Ballet VIII, beginning at age three with basic positions, rhythm and imagination activities and progressing through pre-pointe and pointe work for teenagers. Students learn classical music, composers, French ballet terminology and how dance tells a story without words; many stay through high school and some go on to college and professional dance programs. A registration fee covers each student's first costume for the spring performance.
