About this studio
Brandywine Ballet is a non-profit ballet organization based at 317 Westtown Road in West Chester, Pennsylvania, comprising a performing company and its official school, The Dance Center. The Dance Center was founded in 1974 by Donna L. Muzio, who also founded the Brandywine Ballet Company. The school's main mission is professional training for serious students pursuing dance careers, while also serving those dancing for enjoyment and exercise. Ballet teaching follows the Vaganova (Russian) method throughout, giving continuity from Level 1 to Level 6 and feeding a pre-professional division that students enter at age 12. A contemporary program adds modern, lyrical, jazz and hip hop. The organization runs Brandywine Ballet Theatre, the Company and Brandywine Contemporary, a summer intensive, and a certificate in ballet with West Chester University. Season productions include The Nutcracker and full-length story ballets.
