Studio One of Alexandria, Inc. is an independent ballroom and Latin American dance school in Alexandria, Virginia. Because it is not a franchise, the studio says it avoids passing franchise fees on to students and does not use high-pressure sales or long-term contract enrollment, describing its first priority as teaching people how to dance rather than selling lessons. It teaches both American and International style ballroom and American and International style Latin dancing, and offers instruction at every level from introductory social dancing through to demanding competitive and show-level work, planning a program around each student's own goals. The studio is open Monday to Thursday afternoons and evenings and on Friday afternoons, with a group lesson at 8pm on Fridays followed by a social dance from 9 to 11pm.
