About this studio
Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA) is a performing arts school in Alexandria, Virginia that has worked with young artists for more than 25 years. Its programs cover youth dance and theater, private music lessons, a homeschool arts program, pre-professional companies and an adult dance and fitness division called Move, with classes graded from early childhood through advanced levels. Dance offerings include ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, contemporary, musical theater and street or commercial jazz, plus a class for boys and male-identifying dancers aged 9 and up. The school states that it deliberately stays out of the dance competition scene, describing itself as a non-competitive, student-centered environment.
