About this studio
SA Met Ballet, whose legal name is San Antonio Dance Theatre, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) arts organization established in 1983 and based at 2800 NE Loop 410 in San Antonio, Texas. It trains pre-professional dancers and choreographers from San Antonio and the surrounding area, and relies on individual and foundation support. The company presents two main productions each season, a fall storybook ballet such as The Magic Toyshop and a spring mixed-repertoire concert exploring contemporary and classical works, with open auditions for children's roles from age 5 upwards. It also runs a summer dance intensive with visiting faculty from companies such as Houston Ballet, and stages a Children's Series for Title 1 schools.
