Peterborough Dance Theatre

Peterborough Dance Theatre LLC is a dance education center at 174 Concord Street (Route 202), Suite 230, in the Strand Building, Peterborough, New Hampshire. It grew out of the Monadnock Performing Arts Academy (1999-2013) and marks around 40 years of dance teaching in the Monadnock region. The studio is explicitly non-competitive: it states it has never danced for trophies and bases student progress on attendance, class focus and home practice, offering performance opportunities and guest-artist workshops instead. Class sizes are deliberately limited. The curriculum runs from Creative Dance, Movement and Music for ages 3 to 5/6 and a Tap/Jazz/Ballet combo class for ages 6 to 8, through classical ballet, pointe and pre-pointe, tap, classical jazz, contemporary, hip hop, acro, musical theatre dance and a Rap 'n Tap tap-and-drumming program created by Pati Cloutier. Teen and adult offerings include a dance fusion class, yoga and adult ballet body fitness. Homeschool, seated and adaptive dance classes run on and off site, and Cloutier & Company Dance is an audition/invitation performing group. Trial classes and loaner shoes are offered.
