New Castle Dance Academy

Encore Dance Academy teaches at 460 Eden Circle in Bear, Delaware and 1150 Capitol Trail in Newark, under owner and executive director Lauren Robbins, and cites 18 years of experience. Classes run from age 18 months through adult and from beginner to professional levels. The youngest track starts with Parent Tot from the time a child can walk, then Creative Movement built on a ballet foundation with props, gross motor work and basic tumbling, followed by Pre-KinderDance, OpenKinder and KinderDance ballet-and-tap combination classes. Add-on classes for small children include Tot-Hop, Little Lyrical and Broadway Babies musical theatre. Older students take levelled jazz, ballet with pointe by director approval, lyrical, hip hop, musical theatre, modern and contemporary, with ballet enrollment required for modern and contemporary, plus cheer/pom and tumbling/acro. Encore Elite is the competitive dance team and Encore Elite Ensemble the performance team. The academy runs a year-end recital, a summer drop-in session, an open house and a free trial class.
