Maddox Dance Studio

Maddox Dance Studio, also known as the School of Dance Arts and The North Coast Dance Center, has taught in Warrenton, Oregon since 1949 and is marking its 75th year of dance education on the North Coast. Directed by Jeanne Maddox Peterson, it operates from 389 S. Main Street and teaches ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre and hip hop across recreational and competitive tracks. The school stresses personal attention, individual assessment of each student's progress, and placement into groupings that are re-evaluated through the year rather than a fixed class cohort, and it treats regular attendance as part of the discipline of dance. Ballet is regarded as central to all training. The studio is the home of Little Ballet Theatre Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit performing company with five levels - Pre-Aspirant, Aspirant, Apprentice, Junior and Senior - whose members are selected once they reach the technique level needed for the repertoire, and which presents an annual Nutcracker.
