About this studio
Festival Dance Academy is the school arm of the Festival Dance and Performing Arts Association, in residence at the University of Idaho Dance Program at 1060 Rayburn, Room 117, Moscow, Idaho. It has provided dance education to the Palouse region since 1972. The curriculum runs from Creative Dance for the youngest students through six graded ballet levels and pre-pointe to advanced pointe technique, plus tap (including a teen/adult class), jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, musical theatre, acrobatics and African dance. Students can audition to perform alongside visiting professional companies such as Ballet Victoria, Ballet Fantastique, push/FOLD and Repertory Dance Theatre, and advanced dancers may audition for the Motion Fever Performance Troupe. The academy stages a spring recital, runs a back-to-dance conditioning workshop each August and operates community outreach programs.
