Denver Academy of Ballet

Denver Academy of Ballet was established in 2001 and operates from 6874 S University Blvd in the Denver metro area, directed by Rob and Chandra Kuykendall. It describes itself as offering technical training for students aiming at a professional dance career alongside those who simply want to enjoy dancing, emphasizing technical skill, musicality, self-esteem and personal growth. The Academy runs a fully levelled program, from Tiny Tots in Tutus and Pre-Ballet through leveled Ballet I-VIII, where students work on stretching, strengthening, injury prevention, pointe work, variations and partnering. Combination classes such as Ballet/Tap and Ballet/Jazz are offered for younger dancers, and there is a full contemporary program including jazz and lyrical. Boys Ballet is taught by Rob Kuykendall. Adult beginner and intermediate ballet classes, a summer program and two performance opportunities each year round out the schedule.
