Cooke County Ballet Academy

Cooke County Ballet Academy has taught dance in Cooke County, Texas since 1992 and works from 205 N. Commerce Street in Gainesville. The academy accepts students from age 3 upwards at all levels, and states that its aim is to offer more than dance classes alone, providing an environment where students grow mentally as well as physically. Instruction is delivered by experienced teachers in what the school describes as a wholesome, Christian setting, and its home page carries the verse Psalm 149:3. Preschool and kindergarten students aged 3 to 6 take pre-ballet and creative movement together with tap, aimed at developing creativity, coordination, rhythm and classroom etiquette. From first grade (Level 1) upwards the academy offers ballet and pointe, tap, jazz and hip hop, and clogging. Pointe work is opened to ballet students who reach the required age and technical standard, and pointe students must attend two ballet/pointe classes each week.
